All Levels Djembe Workshop with Master Drummer Sayon Camara
Malinke Master Drummer Sayon Camara from Kouya Sidia, Guinea, West Africa will join our community to offer four West African drumming and folklore workshops over four days. We LOVE learning from Sayon and look forward to his masterclasses!
In this workshop Sayon will be teaching us proper technique and traditional rhythms on the West African hand drum, djembe!

*If you need to rent a djembe, please email Chelsie and pay an extra $5 cash or Venmo at the time of the workshop. OR if you have a drumming friend with an extra djembe, please feel free to contact them to borrow as needed. OR contact the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Schuylerville Public Library or Greenwich Free Library to borrow one with your library card!

Malinke Master Drummer Sayon Camara from Kouya Sidia, Guinea, West Africa will join our community to offer four West African drumming and folklore workshops over four days. We LOVE learning from Sayon and look forward to his masterclasses!
In this workshop Sayon will be sharing stories and songs from his culture. This will be a wonderful lesson in the history of Malinke people, with invitations to learn Malinke language and to sing together!

Let’s bask in the beats and sing with joyful voices at the magical Fish Creek Marina Pavilion. Bring a chair, a drum or other percussion, a song to share and/or dance along! These circles are rain or shine as we are under cover.
