We’re delighted to offer a joyful participatory West African community evening with Sayon and Lev Camara and Arabalon on Friday August 9! Drum and/or dance, listen, observe! It’s your choice.
Come one, come all. This is your African village. The music and dance are traditional, taught in the village style, making it accessible to all. Young, old, singles, couples, families, groups, experienced or no experience at all. Everyone is welcome.
A 6pm drumming class with Sayon will start the evening, followed at 7pm with dance instruction by Lev to Sayon’s live drumming. For about the last 90 minutes of the evening, Sayon and Arabalon will perform for all who care to watch, listen and/or dance to the beat of their own West African inspired drum!

There is no other like Sayon Camara! A djembefola as straight and true as the clear sounds he produces on the djembe drum, his teaching and performances will give you the music of his people, directly from the heart of Guinea, West Africa, leaving you with the richness of his traditional culture, inner joy and a sense of well being.
